Message Do you see the three diamonds on the front of the car. that means will break down. Anyway, this has been my experience having worked on both engines. The Z is a pain, and so is the VR4, it just depends on the particular job. Changing the back turbo on the vr4 is no easy task, but it is near impossible to remove a turbo from a Z with the motor in, but the Z's tranny is also a lot less involved when removing, no cv shafts, transfer case or large brakets need to be moved, just driveshaft, exhaust and a few others. My point is is that most TT's arent cake to work on, but it gets worse. and as far as reliability, it goes like this...--> You can have FAST CHEAP and RELIABLE, now only pick two of the three. If its fast and cheap (DSM) it will break often when drivin fast and repaired cheap. If it's cheap and reliable, it's not fast (civic). if its fast and reliable, it's gonna be cheap (supra, 300ZX, VR4, NSX, RX-7), and sometimes individual cases can vary this.. depending on vehicles background. If i were you, i would pick wich one YOU like more, and wich one YOU would rather work on. Maybe shop around and compare parts prices and see what its gonna take to maintain the car, and learn the inherent weaknesses of each. Another rule to remember is the more moving parts, the more likely to fail. Ok enough with my itiotic rambling. Good Luck!

It's not turbo lag, It's foreplay!
